Where truth can be shared.

Pastor Made a Lasting Impression

Vincent Fields, pastor of Greater Works Ministries church in Absecon, N.J., delivered the invocation at the New Jersey Senate Dec. 11. The non-denominational New Jersey pastor likely won’t be invited back to deliver the opening state legislative prayer after he criticized “faux” marriage in his moment at the podium.

“We curse the spirit that would come to bring about same-sex marriage,” Fields said during his prayer. “We ask you to just look over this place today, cause them to be shaken in their very heart in uprightness, Lord, to do that is right before you.”

Everyone expected a generic prayer. If that’s what Fields had delivered, no one probably would remember him or his message. Instead, he shared a meaningful message. He said something that would be remembered. For that Christians should commend him.

“Sometimes, to be morally correct, you have to be politically unpredictable,” said Pastor Rod Parsley. “Same-sex marriage is being forced upon the majority of Americans by a small group of people who feel they know better than 2,000 years of civilization.”

America needs the divine intervention of God in order to protect the covenant of marriage and spare future generations from the aftereffects of such unions. In the meantime, Bible-believers are encouraged to emulate Pastor Fields example.
Speak God’s truth whenever the opportunity presents itself.
