The Bible – An Approved High-School Textbook!

Posted by thelamp on July 14, 2006

More than 350 school districts in 37 states are teaching the Bible in high-school classrooms. These districts aren’t violating the so-called separation of church and state – they’re offering an elective course in bible history to high-school students, a practice that has withstood numerous court challenges.

The National Council on Bible Curriculum offers materials that allow instructors to teach the Bible without preaching. Using the curriculum, schools offer an elective course in the Bible taught on campus, during school hours, for credit, with the Bible as the textbook.

Pastor Rod Parsley, founder and president of the Center for Moral Clarity, is one of many Christian leaders who endorse the National Council for Bible Curriculum. “School districts across America should add an elective course in the Bible to its high-school curriculum. It’s hard to imagine a complete education that doesn’t account for the influence the Bible has had on our nation’s literature, history and culture.”

You can make a difference in your community by leading the effort to bring this Bible curriculum to your public high school! For more information on the National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools, click here.
