Coming to Public School, Teachers Pushing Homosexual Marriage

Posted by thelamp on July 14, 2006

The National Education Association opens its national convention this week in Orlando. With all the problems facing public education, you’d think they’d focus on improving the lives of children. Instead, they’re ready to endorse homosexual marriage, complete with a commitment to actively promote it in the classroom.

The proposal puts the weight of the nation’s largest teachers union behind the notion that school children of all ages need to learn about all forms of “marriage” – including same-sex unions. Rest assured that they’d use any means necessary, including programs and curriculum, to achieve this goal.

This isn’t the first time that the NEA has used its convention to promote homosexuality. In 2001, NEA delegates considered a resolution designed to normalize homosexuality in America’s schools – going as far as involving homosexual activist organizations to make presentations and upholding gay employees as role models. The NEA also banded with other liberal organizations in opposition to the Marriage Protection Amendment, a vital addition to the U.S. Constitution that would define marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

CMC realizes that many – possibly most – NEA members honor biblical values, and consider their job a calling of God. They must be distraught over the ungodly actions being made in their name. CMC urges NEA members who disagree with the direction their union is taking to make their voices heard to delegates attending next week’s convention, and advocate for their local teachers’ organization to join a different national organization. Come fall, parents of children in public schools should be especially vigilant to monitor what their kids are taught about human sexuality.
