These babies,(unless naturally breech),are being turned around "manually" inside their mothers before being delivered. What's normal about that? This means that they know they are altering the birth process. Why are they doing this? This procedure is their way to hide, change, manipulate and lie their way through the real facts that this is a child being born. The fact that they have to leave the baby's head inside the mother and use an object or some other means to make sure the baby will not take a breath outside the mother's womb is evidence enough that they have taken the life from this child.

I realy feel for the gamblers in the US. I cant beleive your Congress banned all banks and credit card companies from accepting transactions from online gambling sites which makes you unable to play online poker. What a bunch of hypocrites your state government are. They have the largest gambling operations with lotto, keno, etc. If they truly believed their rhetoric about internet gambling they would cut out the state operations also. And now they are bringing in a law to legalise slot machines. Personally I would have a big grudge against any party that stopped me from playing online
poker. I think there must be some way for you guys to get around this problem. Must make you wonder if you are living in the land of the free when it seems the government has full control on what it will and wont let you do.

Me & my husband (Evans C. Martin Jr) are both very much against abortion of any kind. Our Lord, Jesus is surly crying over the lost of the young children, by people who just don't want them. The answer is very simple to those who will listen. IF YOU DON'T WANT OR ARE NOT READY TO BECOME A MOTHER OR FATHER THEN DON'T HAVE SEX. See Very Simple.

Unfortunately, the justices can't do anything, because the "right to free speech" has already been trashed, along with the rest of the constitution. Oh, they'll use it as a shield when it suits them... but when they want to go against it, they'll just go right ahead. If they can't do so without raising too big an alarm with the general public, then they will "amend" the constitution to suit their purposes.

The fact is, they go against it constantly. Income tax, for instance, is against the constitution. There is also no law on the books that requires you to pay it (at least in the States... not sure about Canada, but it's probably the same). But, if you don't, the IRS can take everything you've got, thus breaking the law themselves... but the government gets money out of it, so they are quite happy to let it run. And the IRS can audit anyone for no good reason, just on a whim.

Some freedom.

I have blogged about the most recent attack on free speech by the government earlier today. It concerns those who oppose the war in Iraq (like me).

As a parent, I would not count on the FCC to control <a href="http://www.trashyourtv.com/TV-Sex-and-Violence-and-You-Articles" rel="nofollow">TV violence</a>. There are companies, like Family Safe Media, that have tools that help you control the content and the amount of time your family watches TV.

Of course, another strategy is to get rid of your family's television sets completely. If parents started doing that, THEN the media companies might pay attention.

Yes, that is true. Jesus told us to proclaim to Gospel to the whole world, and we in general are getting lazy about it. We all <em>want</em> to, but we don't. We're either lazy, don't have enough faith, or haven't taken the time to increase our own knowledge enough to qualify us to educate others. Or even all three (now that is a sorry state... one which I myself am guilty of, much of the time). My faith is the primary issue... I have been backsliding for some time, but I hope that getting into these religious discussions will help me refocus my priorities.

And you're welcome. :) I love these kinds of discussions. They get the brain muscles working. I will likely begin perusing your archives in the near future as well. :)

I agree with what you said towards the end of your post. Many Christians (NA) are very complacent and perhaps we even lazy. Most Christians are too consumed with being an outcast versus being conformed to Christ. I really like the movie Late One Night. Although very low budget props and poor acting, one thing I liked was "If you Christians really believed in hell, you would do everything in your power to stop us (sinners) from going there". Later on he said "but if Christians really don't believe in hell, why should we?" The sad reality is people don't want to accept absolutes that hell and heaven are real and there is only one way to get to heaven. Even though it may be said, it seems to be rhetoric rather than reality.

BTW, thank you for posting your views. You're welcome to post many other views and comments on other posts.

Indeed, Christians of North America (and most of Europe) really don't know what it's like to be under physical persecution anymore (i.e. being imprisoned or killed for their beliefs), but that doesn't mean that rights are not at the very least overlooked. What I mean is, one may not see direct action against Christians on a large or even noteable scale, but there is a subtle element, where other groups (religious or not) that are in the minority are getting more rights than Christianity. It's one thing to give more rights to a certain group, it's another thing when you only do so for one group, and not another.

For instance, here in Canada (Toronto, specifically, though it may occur in other cities as well), Muslim mosques can have their prayers spoken over megaphones so that people can hear it for a few blocks in each direction, whether they want to or not. However, if a Christian church were to do that, there'd be an immediate outcry, and likely a petition to make them stop (which they probably would end up having to do). So, it's not okay to step on the toes of minorities--we should even bend over backwards to accomodate them--but if they fall into the majority (whether by religion, or race, or whatever), then they're not important enough to get that kind of consideration, is that it?

I'm afraid that just doesn't make sense to me. If a certain right is given to one group or sect, then it should be given to all. That's what equality is all about. In the context of the original post, this means that this would be acceptable if there were documented cases of people, of any religion, attacking a school and killing students because the school's rules offended them, but as far as I'm aware, there's not, so it's an unrealistic drill, as the writer stated above.

As far as my own response to the original post: I understand what the writer is getting at. I wouldn't want the example to have been Muslim terrorists any more than the one that they used, as that wouldn't be realistic, either. what I'd rather see is an example of what's already been documented: troubled teens and young adults lashing out against their peers, for reasons likely unrelated to any religion whatsoever. THAT makes sense. Parents going postal over lack of certain religious freedoms (regardless of which religion is involved) is not. Besides, Christians on the whole in North America are far too complacent to do something like that (note that I'm talking about the majority here...there are exceptions). We are a lukewarm church in this day and age. They'd have probably said something ("That's not fair! blah blah"), but when they are ignored, most will simply leave it be, because they themselves don't really care enough to make a big issue if it (especially something as "small" as prayer in school... they'd probably just tell their daughter to pray silently, or do so before entering school instead, so they wouldn't "step on toes").

We need more Christians with backbones, really. Thankfully no one could say anything about me praying before eating my lunch, since it was in a public cafeteria and I was on free time. -_-

So, it’s not okay to step on the toes of minorities–we should even bend over backwards to accomodate them–but if they fall into the majority (whether by religion, or race, or whatever), then they’re not important enough to get that kind of consideration, is that it?

I’m afraid that just doesn’t make sense to me. If a certain right is given to one group or sect, then it should be given to all. That’s what equality is all about. In the context of the original post, this means that this would be acceptable if there were documented cases of people, of any religion, attacking a school and killing students because the school’s rules offended them, but as far as I’m aware, there’s not, so it’s an unrealistic drill, as the writer stated above.

As far as my own response to the original post: I understand what the writer is getting at. I wouldn’t want the example to have been Muslim terrorists any more than the one that they used, as that wouldn’t be realistic, either. what I’d rather see is an example of what’s already been documented: troubled teens and young adults lashing out against their peers, for reasons likely unrelated to any religion whatsoever. THAT makes sense. Parents going postal over lack of certain religious freedoms (regardless of which religion is involved) is not. Besides, Christians on the whole in North America are far too complacent to do something like that (note that I’m talking about the majority here…there are exceptions). We are a lukewarm church in this day and age. They’d have probably said something (“That’s not fair! blah blah”), but when they are ignored, most will simply leave it be, because they themselves don’t really care enough to make a big issue if it (especially something as “small” as prayer in school… they’d probably just tell their daughter to pray silently, or do so before entering school instead, so they wouldn’t “step on toes”).

We need more Christians with backbones, really. Thankfully no one could say anything about me praying before eating my lunch, since it was in a public cafeteria and I was on free time. -_-

I will concur that American Christians do not know what persecution is in comparison to what the Muslims have done in nations such as Malaysia, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, etc.

"Sad to say, American Christians really do not truly understand what descrimination or persecution of religion really is."

And they never will. It's impossible for Christians in America to EVER know what discrimination is, it's a clear cut case of the largest sect in the country wanting to make pretend they're a persecuted minority, and everyone needs to feel bad for the overpriviledged.

Sure, there's hypocritical whinings and murmurings every once in a while. "Boo hoo, we can't force our religious doctrine as fact on all students in public schools, we're discriminated against", or one of my favorite, "WAH WAH, we're not allowed to persecute minorities and force the law to treat like them second class citizens because of what our Magic Book says! They're violating our Constituional right to violate the Constitutional rights of all non-Christians! Christianity is a persecuted minority! Wah!"

It is a very sad thing, isn't it? But you know, the gap isn't solely due to the sexual discrimination of employers. I learned about this over a year ago, and the main cause is simply the fact that all business owners just want to save a buck.

If an employee walks into their employer's office, goes into the list of reasons why they deserves a pay raise, and asks for one (obviously), they will likely get one. However, men tend to do so much more often than women. Men are more prone to pushing their way to the top, whereas women are more likely to enter the workforce with the mindset of "If I deserve a pay raise or promotion, the employer should just give it to me instead of waiting for me to ask for it" - However, since the employer is in business to make money, this is not likely to happen. Women typically aren't as comfortable proclaiming how much better they are than others, but unfortunately, that's what's needed in the workplace to get ahead.

Of course, there's discrimination too, especially in certain fields, such as business (as the movie <em>The Associate</em> demonstrates) and science. These will be made most clear in how a male worker is more likely to get a promotion than a female, even if the woman does a better job (and is probably already being paid less than her male counterpart). Something like "Men want to do business with other men" or something... bleh.

To sum it up: Most employers would likely short-change all their employees if they could get away with it, and it turns out that they can more easily with women than men. Changing this fact would require teaching women in the workplace to think differently, so it's not an easy fix. Blame greed, not just discrimination.

I also found this post through System 13, and have thoroughly enjoyed reading it and its comments. I also plan on bookmarking this blog. I will probably blogroll as well.

I don't really have anything more to add as far as opinions go, as previous commentors (most notably Annie) have expressed my thoughts quite well already. I do, however, have a story I'd like to share...

Many years ago, when I was a small child and my older siblings still lived at home, we were in desperate finacial straits. My mom was out of money, and it was going to be some days (can't remember just how long) until her next paycheck. The rent was too much, but she couldn't afford to move either, and we were just about out of food. In fact, we had been reduced to maybe a few cans of vegetables in our cupboard. As my mother sat down to a bowl of beans (I can't remember what the rest of us were eating), she prayed for God's help. Before she even began eating, there was a knock at the door. There stood an old family friend with a casserole she had just been compelled to make for us that day.

It's amazing how God works, don't you think?

Sad to say, American Christians really do not truly understand what descrimination or persecution of religion really is. We have minute examples--Columbine, a very few others--but we truly do not see the constant barrage of terrorism. What we see a slanted Muslim view that has taken main stage and is comes against the American/Christian mindset and ideology. Let's get this apparent, the US is not a Christian nation. At one time we could say the US was founded on Christian principles, but we have given over to self--self indulgence, self gratification, self-esteem (taken to the wrong extreme), and self-preservation. The phrase that could sum up American belief is "whatever you feel is right, do it". What is sad is that absolute standards are thrown out and replaced with tolerance and a lot of blurring of the lines. This even reaches down to the arena of hoomosexuality. 2% population given perpahs the loudest voice (if not, only second to the NEA) while a LARGE percentage just looks the other way. Our attitude: if it doesn't kill me or my children right now, I don't care. But what is really going on is not an "immediate death" but a slow death. You throw a frog in a pot of boiling water and it'll jump out. You place a frog in room temperature water and slowly heat it up, he'll cook.
Now why do I say all this? John 3 states that man loves darkness. Light (Truth) exposes darkness. That is why what is suppose to be good is viewed as bad and what is bad is now good.

Well sir what would you prefer senario to be about muslim terrorists? Well then thats descriminating against muslims. The point of this exercise is safety and that is the main focus. Besides you act as if Christians are discrimnated constantly in America. How the HELL can you think that? Nearly every single politician in this country practices some form of christianity. Do you ever see people protesting christian worship or saying that christians are evil? No because in this part of the world at least Christianity is the dominating force. People like you make up this sence of false discrimination in their head because you do not like it when people resist your beliefs being pressured upon them. As the the homosexuals, yes they do deserve more support than christians do. Has it ever been hard to be a christian in America? NO, but at this time especially it is very hard to be an out gay man in America because people like you cant pull your head out of your ass to see that their not hurting anybody. Your an idiot.

Any person can and will choose to use the remedies and tools of the court system to challenge the true nature of their freedoms being infringed upon. No one who has ever been on the winning or losing side of a court case has been on the side of what is real in truth and justice...as conflict is always between two illusions...As there is nothing that lay beyond truth....A lie can never compete with truth....BUT, a lie can compete against another lie...and an outcome of what might be called justice can be its settlement.

[According to virtually every scientific, medical and sociological study of the homosexual community, the everyday world of the American homosexual is a very unhappy world,” said Pastor Rod Parsley.]

Where is the data from your so-called scientists. Last I knew clergy are not scientists.

Thank you for leaving a link to your blog in my comments. I've really enjoyed reading this post and the comments.

After reading what others have written about the "God wants you to be rich" message, I felt the need to add my thoughts. Like others, I taken aback when I first read this. In my limited experience, those with the greatest faith have usually been those that have had very little (the same people that are usually the first to help you out and/or give you what little they have if you need it).

One last comment...I was always taught that "God will take of you" though it might not be in the way you desire...and IF you want him to help you, you had better be doing the best you can to help Him help you. If you're hungry, God most likely isn't going to be sending the pizza delivery guy with pizza to your door, but he might bless you with crops if you plant a garden. In your post, Salavat didn't receive his money until he went out to work in his garden. Granted he received money, but when he received it he wasn't sitting around waiting for it to arrive.

Sadly, I have members in the church where I serve as pastor who love to listen to Olsteen. The "God wants you to be rich" message is not new, but has always been a detractor from the Gospel message.

Thanks for the inspiring story from VOM. I've frequently wondered what would be if Americans had not married their faith to the "American Dream". Would we really be so at ease in our faith--which requires no real commitment on our part?

Christ called everyone to witness. This is to tesitfy about what Jesus has done in their lives to help others know Him. Our lives are living testimonies of God's goodness...or could be. What I appreciate is the reality of those who in other nations fight through the persecution by maintaining their walk with Christ is a testimony that most Christians in America could not compare. However, every testimony of what Jesus truly has done is a testimony. What does that testimony include, a realization that we have sin (I John 1:8-10) and we need God's forgiveness to be right with God. We also need to TRUTH in knowing that serving Christ will require things of us. Jesus Himself said whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. How? By sacrificing self for others. Sadly, I do not see that in the "evangelism" that is declared and noticed where sin is never preached, hell is not preached, heaven may not be preached because those topics bring extremes or absolutes to the Gospel. Absolutes bring a mirror to reveal our true selves and how we truly compare to the words of Jesus (John 3). This is why we--our church and fellowship--believe whole heartidly in evangelism of not only our cities but every nation in the world...for one reason: Christ's forgiveness. If we can be forgiven and all Christ requires is for us to tell others, then we ought to do it. But when only 2% ever share their faith, alas I see a failure in the ranks.

But I greatly appreciate the comments posted for this topic.

On Joel and Prosperity
(i) True that material prosperity should never be the ultimate quest/dream of a christian, but rather a complete relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ
(ii) Also true that God has no problem if a christian chooses to live a life of prosperity, as long as the wealth is gotten in a right way. God gives us freedom, remember, to do as we wish, and wealth is really nothing in the scheme of eternal things.
(iii)But while (ii) is true, one should also remember that: "But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?" 1 Jn 3:7
(iv) Now, while i do not agree 100% with Joel Osteen (I was a member of his church for 4 or so years), those who just criticize him, do remember this: that he does get through to many people who would ordinarily not get into church, and brings them to church (not necessarily his church in Houston) and those churches then have a responsibility to go ahead and teach these people what real christianity is. Do you also witness and bring people to christ as he does?
(v) Based on (iv), how do you know if Joel's master (which none of us who criticize him are) set him up to be just "the lamp", showing and pointing the people to where they should go and receive better teaching? How do you know?

On no persecution in the American church
I believe the reason is because the American christians are not obeying their master as they ought. If they did, and spoke when they should and what they should, there is no doubt they will be persecuted.
Several reasons:
(i) There is this false notion that America is a christian Nation. What does that mean? (Perhaps it was initially, but it no longer is anymore)
(ii) The church agreed to receive Tax deductible donations, and thereby agreed to abide by the rules set up on using "public" dollars (e.g. not advance opinions not agreeable to...). They have muzzled themselves by doing this.
(iii) There american sense of freedom (while mostly good) has deceived the church. Christians fear to tell others they are wrong on issues, since people are "free to be"
(iv) Back to Joel's Prosperity: American christians have been ensnared and enslved by their own prosperity! This should tell us that it is folly to seek prosperity as an End to itself. Why, i ask, would i need the Lord's help if (of course we should never only go to him when in need, but reality shows that what we do),
(a) when i need cash, i just go the bank for a personal line of credit or use my credit card
(b)when i need a vehicle, i just go to a dealership and drive off with a new car
(c) when the "ice cream" flavor i want is not in the fridge, i just look in the deep freezer in the basement
(d)when i need a house, i just get a mortgage (and thereby enslave myself even more for the next 30 years)
(e) when i get tired with my kitchen, i just remodel
(f) when i am sick, there are fine doctors all over, and if i have insurance, i just have to pay $20 copay

So what is right and wrong? Simple. every christian has a personal teacher, the Holy Spirit, and if you obey the Holy Spirit, you will never be in doubt as to what is right. Lets live by the Spirit, and lets remember to ease the burden of the christians (and others) in need.

Thanks for commenting on my blog -- that is what directed me to yours.

VOM has no need to fabricate stories -- they have any number of true stories to draw from! As Americans, we honestly have had to suffer very little for the Cross -- our feelings might get hurt from time to time, or we might feel unfairly singled out on occasion, but around the world... the stories boggle my mind. A young man who recently joined our church here in Kyiv, Ukraine, cannot return to his neighboring country because he will be arrested as soon as he sets foot on that soil -- for being a Christian. Can you imagine leaving your earthly family, not knowing whether you will ever see them again, because you won't renounce your faith in God and His Son?

Oh, that I, too, would be willing to suffer so for the Cross. I like to THINK that I would, but I have never been put to such a test...

I can agree with the story only partially. The second part is really can be true: if an innocent person is in need and cannot work with his own hands and mind for some reason, God always helps. Though, of course, if you are a physically and mentally healthy person it is you who should be an instrument through which the Divine can make this world better and staying at home and dreaming will help neither you nor God.
On the other hand, the words "It's God will for you to live in poverty" absolutely shocked me. How come? Has not God created all this world (nature, animals, etc.) for his beloved creation, the man, to enjoy all this and prosper? Has not Jesus taken all our sins upon himself when he was crusified? The meaning of life is to find God within. Christ's words: "God Kingdom's is within!" And what is God? It is love and joy that you grow in yourself and share it with the world and people around you. And if you have managed to do it, you have automatically become a harmonious and balanced person. A really harmonious person simply cannot live in poverty: Life/God will always support such a person arranging many ways for him to do creative things.

Thanks for your comment on my site.

The "health, wealth and prosperity" message is unfortunately being popularized by such people as Joel Osteen. This, as you said, is very unbiblical. The best example I can think of is Job. He lost his wife, children, business and friends, but it wasn't because God was mad at him. God loved Job, but allowed trials to pervade his life as a test of faith ("My brethren, count it all joy when you are afflicted with various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience." James 1:2)

To Zeitlos,
I do not know if Joel got his stuff from American Dream or Ben Franklin; however, from various accounts I have read and heard of churches in Africa, Iran, Malaysia, etc...I would be rather upset at an American preacher telling me about wealth when I am missing an arm simply because I do not renounce Jesus. It almost smells of who has what priority. Second, I would agree with you to a point. The Bible says nowhere "The Lord helps those who helps themselves". However, the Bible does point out that he who does not work, he shall not eat. God wants us working, true. God does want us to do His part. In doing so, and by staying faithful to God in trusting Him, He will provide. God provides, but God doesn't honor handouts. Jesus even challenged those who followed because of that mentality in John 6. But I appreciate your honest opinions.

Hi! I found your post via the comment on system 13 and just wanted to add two short thoughts:
1. I'm not very surpsrised by the quote you mention in the beginning. If I remember correctly, it originates in the Puritan tradition. You can find similar ideas for example in Benjamin Franklins biography. Or just think of the classic "American Dream".
2. Even if I don't agree with the idea, that economic success is a sign of God, I can't understand the story you tell in your post. How can someone sit down, pray and just wait for God to help, when his daughter is hungry. Would it mean to doubt God, if he tried to find a way out by himself? I really think God helps those who help themselves.

"Perhaps court systems across the nation should treat adultery for what it truly is: lying, cheating and stealing."

So you're suggesting that Federal law should criminalize and prosecute Adultery? Give me a break. The Michigan law that cites adultery as a felony was instituted by a bunch of uptight, bible thumping buzz wreckers. I know. I live in Michigan and there's tons of uptight, dutch reform control freaks here. A spouse who cheats in their marriage is a philanderer, not a felon.

So say you marry a cold potato and your spouse is too uptight to put out after the initial bit of time or after the need to procreate is satisfied. And, as a result, you have a purely sexual fling....i.e. not shirking any other responsibilities other than going out and getting some sex. This warrants prison time? I think not.

And since something like 60% of men and 40% of women cheat on their spouses, I can only imagine how much hate and discontent that enforcing such a law would cause. Hell, the end result would be less people would marry and they'd just screw each other/have kids out of wedlock. There's a nice concept for the nuclear family of the new millenia.

And I haven't even started on how popular it would be to pay for the imprisonment of adulterers. Not to mention the proliferation of anal sex as a result of such an imprisonment. HA.

Good luck with that...

Seeing as the current culture is quickly slipping into a junior version of European secularism, it is not surprising. Had the coins said "In Jesus We Trust," then I could see it. Won't those of other religions be offended since supposedly we all worship the same God? Btw in Jesus I trust. :D

I think I just see "In God We Trust" on currency as a superficial way to pretend that we actually "trust in God". I think America trusts in its military might and economic power much more than it trusts in God.
You bring up the "render unto Caesar..." passage, yet you interpret it in a way that fits the American way rather than God's way. The passage was never meant to be twisted around so that people see their money as God's, since that was never the concern. It is the exact opposite. Give to the state what is the state's - money, power, authority - for these are the things of man. Give to God what is God's - your obedience, honour, and will.
Throwing in "In God We Trust" was simply a Freemason's way of merging the Kingdom of God with the Kingdom of Man.

Personally, "In God We Trust" is in reference to when Jesus stated "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and render unto God what is God's". In other words, our money belongs to God. Now, it is true everything belongs to God; however, men have allowed money to corrupt them...rather actually the love of money. Simply, taking "God" isn't an issue of God caring...it's an issue of man (not) wanting God.

San Francisco is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen, but the spirit of the place is not good. What we endure in America does not rise to the level of persecution compared to other places in the world. But it can get rather annoying, especially when it's pointed at our younger believers whom we want to protect. There's a stronghold in that city that seems to strangle common sense and decency at times.

Wow...chills ran up my spine as I read that this man is claiming that Satan doesn't exist.

Who better to debate that sin doesn't exist than Satan himself?

As a Christian I must warn you that John Hagee is in deep error regarding his charges against the President of Iran, charging the President as having said "Israel Must Be Wiped Off The Map."

This statement was not made by the President, and although American Media will not correct and instead are complicit in continuing to mislead Americans and Christians in this context. I have researched this issue as I now charge you also do.

At makes my heart ache how little discernment the churches evidence today in America, leaders who are to lead others into maturity and untiy, instead being fooled into repeating error they do not even take time to substantuate.

I have posted an article only for my Christian friends, but would make it available (only) to you regarding this matter describing what the Iran President did say, it is:
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/rtpricetag/Hagee.html

Regarding the secular minority called Zionist who today control Israel, I wrote another article open to everyone. In it is research data on Zionist State of Isreal today, also Bible study and scripture that proves that it is not God gathering people to Israel today, but secular man through deception and lies. The result is serius economic problems, organized crime spreading into other nations, and the Aparthied conditions being applied against Palestinian peoples. This webpage article I strongly suggest your read, it is:

If Jesus'bones were in an ossuary, that would imply that there was a familt tomb. Why,then, would Joseph of Arimithea's tomb be needed even if it was a temporary deposition? Since when would a wealthy Jew be crucified since only the poor were victims of this kind of capital punishment? Why would the religious authorities have allowed either the family members or the immediate disciples of Jesus the body for burial considering the charge of blasphemy they raised against Him resulting in His crucifixion in the first place? To encourage His veneration??As a rule, crucified bodies were dumped in a common grave by the Roman authorities.

It is telling that the name of this carpenter is so compelling that men like Mr. Miranda can borrow off its notoriety to further their careers as con-messiahs. What other identity could a con-man claim that would allow him to wield this sort of influence?

JOSE LUIS DE JESUS MIRANDA is a con artist. This in itself is not surprising. I minister in a Federal prison that's full of them. What is shocking is the huge amount of human beings who fall hook-line-and-sinker for this man's shell game. A steady diet of the Word of God would keep them from falling into a ditch.

I managed to skip watching this documentary -- I used to like James Cameron -- when people spend this much time, money and effort to disprove something they really have not examined the validity of, it tells me that I should keep on trekking! I skipped watching this because I knew it would anger me for hours, maybe days ... and I didn't want to give it any airplay. If James Cameron and his crew had spent this much time actually examining the evidence, the same thing would happen to them that has happened to many scientists, and that is, they would recognize Jesus Christ is their Lord and King, before it's too late for them to have faith ... for one day, their knees will bow, and their lips will confess, when he's standing before their eyes! I enjoyed your reading your posting, and happy that you found it all as worthless and I'd guessed it would be!

About time too! Autism treatment is readily available ....right now! I would have thought that the better part of that money could be spent telling people the options available and explaining why it would have an affect.
There are many websites doing just that.

I do have to give the Mona Lisa smile to the frustrated Christians who seem to be having a rough go with their KKK kill the fag tactics. Teaching or integrating truth has never been their strong suit, like fags have been here alot longer then their fantasy wishful thinking religion, classrooms or no classrooms.

I will throw this bone at them though; when the fags are done with you, you have lefties and shellfish eaters to rabbi-dog after to demonize demoralize and kill. At least one would think so according to Leviticus, their favorite biblical grand dragon of the KKK theology.

Seems Christians always need an enemy to make them feel alive. Could this be because that "born again" feeling fades away? ....... would you say they are a bit angry at the hype that didn't last? Poor choices can make crumy bed partners. Christainity is the most violent cult ever conceived. Heads up, you bought the farm and it didn't produce the crop you were promised ... bummer.

How about using the term "Biblical" Family instead? When you use words like "abomination" to describe same-sex marriage, and "opting to live an alternative lifestyle" you just show how uninformed you are.

Homosexuality is not a choice. The only "abomination" is your unending Judgement--which is G-d's purview, not yours--, your un-Christlike attitude, and nonloving speech. May He forgive you. And before you go quoting Leviticus to me, go get yourself a couple more spouses and a slave or two. Then we'll talk.

The two questions I have about raising the minimum wage is:1- will more young and poor people will be laid off because businesses will have to cut back due to increased wages. 2- Will there not be as many hired as in the past for this same reason?

Adultery goes directly against God's instruction, to "keep the marriage bed pure" - paraphrased.

Marriage is a covenant and is therefore extremely serious in God's eyes.

We should therefore be very careful whom we marry and if in any doubt, stay single and celibate.

A wedding does not make a marriage. A covenant relationship within the proper boundaries of the Bible, does.

1 Corinthians 13 - God's agape unconditional love needs to be brought into marriage.

May God bless you all mightily for the work you are doing.

I feel that women should not have an abortion because your killing a innocent human being. Your killing your own child and by getting and abortion you can die yourself so dont put your self at risk. just have the baby and put it up for adoption and no one will get hurt from that procedure so think about yourself and your kid dont kill what God has created because that guilt will live with you forever and ever until you die yourself and you would probably wonder what it was like to have a child

No, keep that burden for the lost regardless of others. Remember, when you stand before God...You will stand alone. Philippians states for us to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. The reality is we enjoy others thinking and being the Christian for us and to take the brunt of the requirements when Jesus wants us all to do our fair share. Some may not become pastors, or apostles, or prophets...but we are all required to do our part as the body fo Christ. Notice one thing though when Paul spoke of the body of Christ. He spoke of eyes, ears, hands, and feet...but no mention of the mouth. Why? I beleive it's because God wants us all to use it to share...no one is exempt.
I recently saw a great movie entitled Time Changers. If you have not seen it, I recommend it. You will see your burden and our age literally on screen.
God bless!

No, keep that burden for the lost regardless of others. Remember, when you stand before God…You will stand alone. Philippians states for us to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. The reality is we enjoy others thinking and being the Christian for us and to take the brunt of the requirements when Jesus wants us all to do our fair share. Some may not become pastors, or apostles, or prophets…but we are all required to do our part as the body fo Christ. Notice one thing though when Paul spoke of the body of Christ. He spoke of eyes, ears, hands, and feet…but no mention of the mouth. Why? I beleive it’s because God wants us all to use it to share…no one is exempt.

I've been struggling with the burden of caring and compassion, mostly because many churches and church leaders seem so indifferent to a lost and dying world. They seem only to be interested in their agenda's and not God's. Their heartbeat and not God's. Their kingdoms and not God's. It's physically and mentally draining. I'm in awe of what many accept as Christianity today with the passiveness for a world going to Hell. I was contemplating if I should be feeling the burden, if it's right, if I should get rid of it. All hile telling the Lord 'not my will but thine be done.' I know now it's there so taht I can depend on Him to help me initiate change.

It's not easy contracting a passion and compassion for souls especially in light of what we've covered. This quote you posted reminds me of what Jeremiah said. "your word is like fire shut up in my bones." I can't keep silent about it like the quote says. It's very timely, I can't tell you. It really is encouraging. Thanks for putting it up. If anything, it was for me. God bless you.

Peace,
Tony
Thx for stopping by my blog. It was kind of a mess as I was changing themes-you may have noticed.

Sure thing, and not bad site. I was reading a great book "Tortured for Christ". I HIGHLY recommend it. It mentioned that many churches (and denominations) quibble over trivial matters while neglecting the important things of evangelism. The book mentioned a lot more. I recommend the book...just bring some hankys and hope you have good knees for praying to Jesus. It's really convicting, too.
On a side note, let us know if you're interested in your website being hosted and/or some e-mail service. www.covenantdata.com

Like your blog! Looks like you have a sincere heart for God and feel His heartbeat for souls - all to uncommon in His body.

Just wanted to leave a comment on this posting of yours. I am relieved to know there are other Christians out there like yourself who want the Great Commission fulfilled (and not just by the 'evangelist' or 'pastor'). My understanding is that it's all of our (Christian's) responsability. Of course, the Bible is very clear about this. I also noticed your links to 'Living Waters Ministries' and 'Way of the Master'. We have an evangelism team that evangelizes every Sat night downtown Denver at a Christian coffee shop called JC's Ground Coffee & Tea House - http://jcsground.com/. Check out our blog for more info:

http://joeschmo.wordpress.com

The premise of the word 'joeschmo' is to point out that anyone can share their faith as long as they have an understanding of and appreciation for what Christ has done. The team is comprised of 'foolish things', privy pots (clay jars). Please keep us in prayer for strength and perseverance and Holy Spirit empowerment and wisdom as we strive to fulfill the Great Commission. You're welcomed to stop by and check it out and leave your thoughts. I'm going to add you to my blogroll if you don't mind. Hope we can keep in touch. Christians need to band together these last days so that we can be strengthened and get the work of God done before His return.

Yes very sad situation for mankind which is hurtling at a fast rate to perdition!Woe betide us for sitting by and doing nothing. The saddest part is that we Christians don't think we ought to be doing something about this shift that is sweeping across the world at a very fast pace.
Lord Have Mercy on us!!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Here is the post that went up on my real writing page for today:
Over The River and Through The Woods

My fondest memories of Thanksgiving are of going to my grandmothers’ houses. I was blessed in that I am able to remember two grandmothers plus one great grandmother. That alone is enough for anyone to offer thanksgiving! Both of my grandmothers started off life as poor country girls. One stayed on the country and lived there until her death when I was 6. The other moved to the city where she still lives at the ripe young age of 92.

The one that lived in the country was poor by most people’s standards, yet I never noticed it. The other moved to the city and ran a rest home and lived, and still lives, comfortably. Though they lived very different lives, they both had faith in God. And. It was visible through their lifestyles. While ones faith was shown sometimes through what she had, the other’s was shown through what she didn’t have. For some reason though I never noticed the have and the have not; the faith was what shown through to a little boy.

I remember walking into their houses on thanksgiving and the smell of the home cooking meeting me at the door. Thanksgiving of 1977 was to be different: it was the first Thanksgiving after the death of my grandfather. We left our home and went over the river, the Black Water River in Franklin, Virginia, and through the woods of Gates County, North Carolina until we reached Elizabeth City where my grandmother lives. I couldn’t wait to open the door and let the smell of turkey and the fragrance of all the pies fill my sinuses. The minute the car stopped my taste buds were doing the doo-see-doo in anticipation of the glories they were about to experience.

The door swung open but no smell waltzed out. Not even the slightest hint of pumpkin pie was in the air. The house was quiet. The kitchen was dark. My grandmother had taken sick the night before and was unable to cook. A quick check of the yellow pages proved fruitless in the task of trying to find a restaurant. Simply stated, “this was 1977, and restaurants and grocery stores closed for holidays!” We made an excursion to Granny’s refrigerator and took inventory: Bologna, hot dogs, eggs, bacon, Pepsi, and ice cream in the freezer. It might not have been what President Carter feasted on, and I must admit I held a grudge against the turkey he had earlier pardoned, but I noticed that we all were full. My stomach didn’t seem to care that it didn’t have turkey with all the trimmings; it never once asked for pumpkin pie.

We spent to the day talking to granny reminiscing about times past and looking to times future. I took a quick trip across town and visited with my granny’s sister, my great aunt. And, great she was. She had been in poor health for many years and yet she took my grandmother to the store daily after my grandfather died (my granny never has driven). Her first name was Grace and her middle name Angelica (somehow I think her mother knew the kind of girl she was going to be). She told me to go look on her bar there was something there for me: a nice freshly baked chocolate pie: which I felt guilty about eating any of as my parents and sister were at my grandmother’s house not enjoying this sensation. I talked to my aunt grace for a while then made my way back to my granny’s house for the trip through the woods and over the river back home. And some where between my aunt’s and my granny’s something strange came into my mind. Could it be that thanksgiving isn’t about pumpkin pie and turkey? Could it be thanksgiving is something a little bit more than all those trimmings? Could it be that my stomach knew best: That it was just as full on bologna and it was happy?

Could it be that through my granny’s sickness that I saw thanksgiving for what it was? Though she was well off, she showed me how to be thankful in poverty, Just as many years before my other grandmother, Ma’maw, had showed me how to be thankful through her own poverty. Could it be that thanksgiving is just something a little bit more than a feast a king could afford? Could it be that it is that feeling that touches you when you around the people you love and love you back. Paul wrote that he could do all things through Christ who gave him strength. And, both of my grandmothers had that strength. It didn’t matter that one’s table might have had more variety on it than the other’s, what mattered was the way the table was set. And, they both set their tables with love.

Tomorrow as you set your table remember it isn’t so much what you set out before your guest, it is how you set the table!

Happy Thanksgiving!

How can christians possibly believe that it is a sin to kill a potential human, however microscopic and non aware, in order to cure a desease that has killed thousands if not millions over history. If God created us, and we figured it out, then isn't that part of the devine plan? And what were the christians thinking when they slaughtered thousands of Muslims during the crusades in the name of God? That was ok? I beg to differ and I believe the ability of humans to discover a cure and rid humanity of certain life threatening deseases is by default an act of God and therefore should proceed immediately and without delay.

I think Pastor Rod Parsley is right about the election. It was more a judgement of the Republican party itself, rather than a shift in ideology in America. I am not too worried about liberals like Pelosi taking our country in the wrong direction. Her leadership is already being challenged. There are plenty of conservative Dems. in Congress to balance things out. "Blue Dog Democrat" will become a common phrase in conservations about politics over the next two years .

Debates are taking place in the UK at the moment because doctors and ethicists have said babies born at 22weeks or younger shouldn't be put in intensive care but they should allow nature to take its course!

I don't believe in abortion in general and especially not these late term abortions. I believe that a baby is a BABY at conception. I have also been reading about a group that is advocating some type of just after birth euthanasia...a baby that is born with some type of handicap can be euthanized just after is born. These things just appall me. Thanks for putting things like this out for people to read.

Answers to your three questions:

1. The Spirit of God will return me to Him.
2. Qualified by the blood of Jesus.
3. More real than earth. This world is a vapor, heaven is eternal.

Yes, there is a real Heaven and Hell. I believe according to Romans 5 that we can gain entrance into heaven by our faith in Jesus. We "are justified by his blood". Now the real question is where do we contact the blood? Because according to the writer of Hebrews (chapter 10 specifically) Christians are covered in Christ's blood and gain entrance into God's presence because of the sacrifice of Christ. When does the blood start to cover us? I mean at what point do we contact the blood?

Yes, Heaven is real (as is hell). I think the Bible says it best:
<em>In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."</em> John 3:3
